To the delight of 300 lucky people, The Get Up Kids played a reunion show at RecordBar in their hometown, Kansas City, last night. This was their first show since their “last” show July 2, 2005. While the highlight for most was that they played their classic album Something to Write Home About from start to finish (to commemorate the 10th anniversary of it’s release), the biggest highlight for most is their announcement of a reunion tour in 2009. The band also confirmed the rumors that Vagrant will be releasing a 10th anniversary version of Something to Write Home About with a DVD and a photo book.
Here is a video of The Get Up Kids playing their classic “I’ll Catch You” that concluded their reunion set.

Oh man! The Get Up Kids. That brings back some high school memories. I can’t believe it’s been ten years. I must be getting old…
