Singer of Cizaña, Sali Eiler, Brutally Raped and Murdered

On September 24th, Sali Eiler’s (Marcella Grace Eiler) body was found in a shack 80 miles south of Oaxaca City, Mexico. It has been determined that the 20 year old singer of Cizaña was raped and murdered 10 days prior by Omar Yoguez Singu.

Music comes out of the heart

Photographer John Argetsinger and painter/singer Erica Sherman create well panned guitars, thoughtful drums, and some of the most sincere vocals while real people talk about real things. In the title track, Terminal Eclipse of the American Heart, a Hopi Indian speaks about America’s wavering condition.

Joyful Noise Sampler 2009 - It’s FREE!

Joyful Noise has released a sampler featuring artists like Bizzart, Grampall Jookabox, Ann Arbor’s Man at Arms, and more. It’s their way of ushering in 2009 with more weird and creative music. This label has been putting out some of the more interesting indie/prog/expermental rock as well as the noisy/experimental/wunderkind Bizzart!

Celebrate with Polvo and Merge!

Merge Records is celebrating 14 years of cult classicism. Polvo’s debut ep is now on 180 gram vinyl with free download coupon. I bought this ep at a used cd shop in Freeport, IL for 1 dollar in 1998. I listened to it all the time, I took it with me everywhere and then I lost it.

As I walked in, everyone was already dancing. The Independent in SF hosts some of the best acts in the indie scene. Tonight was no different, with the lineup including only two bands: Friendly Fires and the ever charismatic and alluring Lykke Li.

Grampall Jookabox game???!?!

I heard about Grampall Jookabox this summer when I was on tour with City Harvest Black. He told me that there was this guy named Grampall Jookabox touring around and playing some disgusting shows. When I got home I found out my friend Bizzart got signed to Joyful Noise….
