Mix Tape Monday #1

This is going to be a new weekly feature at Rapid Transit Radio.  Every week, one of our writers is going to do a rundown of a few bands they have been listening to lately with links to where you can check them out.  Without further adieu, here is my mix for this week:

1. Last Days of April- For the longest time, I only had (and listened to constantly) their album Angel Youth.  That album is so perfect that I never desired to seek out anything else by them until recently when I checked out Might as Well Live.  I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was.  Angel Youth is still my favorite, but this album will definitely be getting some listens in the near future.

2. The Kills- Being a big fan of Discount, I was excited when I heard the singer was starting a new band many moons ago.  Unfortunately, I could never get into the first two albums.  But earlier this year, Midnight Boom came out and I fell in love! I’ve been listening to it weekly ever since.

3. Lemuria- Indie pop trio from my neck of the woods (Buffalo,NY) who are currently on tour with Gordon Gano’s Army.

4. Total Bummer- I’ve been listening to this band every day since I last wrote about them.  Soft playful music with really sweet female vocals.  Some people call them twee pop, but I don’t hear it.

-Listen to Total Bummer (Last.FM)

5.Hüsker Dü- It has taken me a long time (some may say too long), but i’m finally getting into this classic and influential band.  New Day Rising has been playing all week at my house.
