Bison B.C.- A breath of fresh air for metal

It’s been a long time since I have seen or heard a new metal band that has kept my attention for longer than a few minutes.  The last place I expected to see a good metal band is opening up for Fucked Up.  When Bison B.C. first hit the stage at Mohawk Place, the only thing on my mind was that I hoped their set was short because I was really anxious to see Fucked Up.  To my pleasant surprise, they were really good and heavy as fuck.  They definitely have a slight Mastodon influence in their sound, but by no means are trying to copy them.  It’s no surprise that Metal Blade Records snatched them up and recently released their album Quiet Earth.

Bison B.C. are currently on tour in support of their Metal Blade debut.  Playing with bands such as High on Fire and Priestess, you won’t want to miss these shows.  Check their myspace page for tour dates.

One of the best surprise bands at show that I’ve seen in a while. Crazy heavy and oh so catchy.

They were awesome. I at first thought it was Psychadelic Horseshit and was somewhat upset that such an awesome band had such an awful name, but then I found out it was not the horseshit. So loud and heavy! A+.
